Symbian operating system may have been altogether ‘sidelined’ by Nokia but mobile internet browsing data gathered by StatCounter over the past 6 months from netizens in the Philippines show that the platform is still the leading mobile OS in the country — by a mile.

The graph shows that – from July 2011 to December 2011 – 46.88% of mobile users in the Philippines browsed the net on Symbian-powered devices, which are almost surely Nokia smartphones.
