Open new windows in Tabs in Safari

Most of the time when you click on a link while using Safari, it opens a new window instead of a tab.

So here’s a trick to make Safari behave like Firefox. Open Terminal, (/Applications/Utilities/) or use spotlight and type in terminal and copy paste the following command:

defaults write com.apple.Safari TargetedClicksCreateTabs -bool true

then Enter

You then have to restart Safari for it to work. All clicked links will now open in a new tab. If you want to revert to the default behavior of Safari just repeat the steps but replace “true” with “false.”

Ynzal loses Authorized Apple Reseller status

We regret to inform you that Ynzal Marketing Corp. will cease to be an Authorized Apple Reseller beginning July 29th. We received notice from Apple recently that we will no longer be accredited as an authorized reseller by July 29, 2008 pursuant to clause 13B (i) of our Authorized Apple Reseller Sales Agreement (which states that “Apple can terminate the Agreement at any time, with or without cause, on 30 days written notice”).

Apple iCal hit with three remote vulnerabilities

Core Security has published three iCal 3.0.1 vulnerabilities, the personal calendar application that ships with the MacOS X 10.5.1 operating system.

Two of the vulnerabilities can crash the iCal program and one that could conceivably allow a hacker to take control of another person’s computer. So far, Apple has not released any patch via Software Update. For right now, users should not import untrusted iCal events or edit events that may be suspect until a fix is delivered by Apple.
