How to solve .Mac login failed in Tiger when using Mobileme
Mac July 13th. 2008, 11:35pmIf you’re using Mac OS X Tiger and you’re trying to sync your mobileme account and it says
There was a problem with the sync operation
.Mac login failed
Here’s the solution
Open Finder and highlight the Mac HDD and then on the search bar type “dotmac” without the quotes. There will be 3 files under Other with the plist extension. Drag those 3 files to trash, empty trash, and then restart your Mac.
Then repeat the resyncing process.

OMFG, after FIVE hours of lame chat and email support from Apple, I spent five minutes googling and implementing this solution. I am so grateful for this posting and SO SO angry with Apple’s MobileMe support.

July 2010 – Previously working fine (up until about 1 month ago), Sync will not work due to “.Mac login failed.” I have been ’round and ’round with forums and Apple’s MobileMe support, but none of the “solutions” seem to work. Apple’s people want me to upgrade my OS from 10.4.11, but it is working fine on another computer with the same OS. Can anyone help???
