Microsoft Delays release of Windows XP SP3
Windows XP April 30th. 2008, 7:22amMicrosoft delayed the Web release of Windows XP SP3 after finding a compatibility issue.
Microsoft found a compatibility problem between Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System, a retail chain management program for small and midsize businesses, with both Windows XP SP3 and Vista SP1. “To help protect our customers, we plan to put filtering in place shortly to prevent Windows Update from offering both service packs to systems running Microsoft Dynamics RMS,” Microsoft said. Once the filtering is in place, Service Pack 3 would be then released via Windows Update and Download Center.
