Samsung 256GB solid state drive (SSD)
Samsung May 27th. 2008, 8:59amSamsung has developed one of the largest-capacity and highest-speed solid state drives to date, a 256GB solid state drive out in mass production by the end of this year in 1.8” and 2.5” sizes.

Samsung also claims that it will be able to hit massive read speeds of 200MB/s and sequential read rates of 160MB/s. Like upcoming Intel SSDs, Samsung’s drive will use multi-level cell (MLC) technology and a high-speed Serial ATA (SATA) II interface. SSDs have no moving parts, which means they avoid both the risk of mechanical failure and the mechanical delays of hard disk drives.
